How do I set up and use project templates?
A template holds the usual shape of one kind of project — items, checklist, expenses — so each new one starts ready.

What does a template hold, and what not? Where do I set templates up? How do I use a template? Who does what?An office does the same kinds of project again and again: a building permit, an energy performance study, a building services design, a regularisation. A project template holds whatever repeats, so it is neither typed again nor forgotten.
What does a template hold, and what not?
| Goes into the new project | Never filled in |
|---|---|
| Items from the office's catalogue — your own, or assigned to a partner, either a named partner or left empty to be chosen in the form | Title, customer, location, dates, overall owner |
| One checklist, which becomes the project's own list | Fees, item values, partner payments |
| One expense category: its active items come in with no amount, as pending | Real expense amounts |
Where do I set templates up?
In Settings → Projects & services → Project templates. Ergothiki's ready-made templates are switched on and then adapted; New template makes an empty one of your own. The lists that templates link to are under Checklists, in the same group of settings.
The ready-made templates and checklists follow one country's procedures, so they are only offered to offices in that country. Where there are none yet, the page says so and you make your own; anything you have already switched on stays as it is.

How do I use a template?
In Projects, press 🧩 New project from a template and pick one. The ordinary new-project form opens; you fill in its details and, for each partner item without a partner, choose who. Create the project brings in the items, the checklist and the expenses. The button appears once the office has at least one template switched on.
Who does what?
Templates are set up by whoever changes the office's settings:
| Permission | Office Owner | Office administrator | Project manager | Technical staff | Secretariat | Accounting | Website manager |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Change the office settings | yes | yes | no | no | no | no | no |
They are used by whoever creates projects:
| Permission | Office Owner | Office administrator | Project manager | Technical staff | Secretariat | Accounting | Website manager |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Create and edit projects and work items | yes | yes | yes | no | no | no | no |
A template is a starting point, not a locked plan. Changing it reaches only the projects made afterwards, and deleting it deletes no project.
