How do I request and approve leave?
The leave request, approval with a reason, the leave calendar and the team's time on one page.

Who does what? What about the members who were already in the office? How do I request leave? How is leave approved? Can a sickness become leave? What is a person's working week? What do I see about the team?Leave goes through three places: the member's request, approval by whoever manages the members, and the leave calendar. From there it counts in the team's availability and in the time Team › Overview expects from each person.

Who does what?
| Who | Does what | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Every member, when the office records time | Sees the year's allowance, what was used, what is waiting and what is left; sends a leave request; reports sick leave | Team › Me › My leave |
| Whoever manages the members | Approves or refuses (with a reason); sees who is away when | Team › Leave & approvals |
| Whoever manages the members | Sets each member's yearly allowance (half days too); sees the whole team's balances, month by month | Team › Leave & approvals › Allowances & balances |
| Whoever changes the settings | Decides whether leave needs approval | Team › Leave & approvals › Hours & holidays |
| Whoever changes the settings | Sets the allowance a new member starts with (in proportion, when they join mid-year), whether the balance carries over and whether sick days are taken from the allowance | Team › Leave & approvals › Allowances & balances |
What about the members who were already in the office?
The allowance you set for new members is not written by itself to the members who were already in the office; theirs shows «—». Whoever manages the members presses Apply to the … members under the default (Team › Leave & approvals › Allowances & balances), sees who will get it and confirms: the whole year is written, not in proportion, and it is recorded in the history. A member with an allowance of their own never changes.
How do I request leave?
With Request leave you give the kind, the days and, if you wish, a note only the managers read; before you send it you see the working days and what would be left. Sick leave is not a request: it is recorded at once and the managers are told.
How is leave approved?
Requests appear with who else is away on those days and the project deadlines inside the leave. A refusal needs a reason. Nobody approves their own request: a manager's own request is approved by another of the office's managers — if there is none, it is in effect at once; either way the history says so. If approval is switched off, leave is recorded without a request.
Can a sickness become leave?
Yes, by whoever manages the members: in the Sickness card (Team › Leave & approvals › Allowances & balances) or from the ⋯ of a sickness among the recent decisions, with Turn into leave…. The day is taken from the balance, the member is told (with the reason, if you write one) and the change is written in the history; Turn back into sickness undoes it. Nobody turns their own sickness. The card also marks every sickness, from the second on, that falls next to a day off.
What is a person's working week?
Each person works the office's working days, whole, unless they are given a week of their own: for each day whole, half or none. Whoever manages the members sets it, in the person's Working days tab (Team › Members & roles › the person). The person sees it in their profile without changing it — the owner too, for their own. The week counts in availability: in the team's load and in the estimates.
What do I see about the team?
Team › Overview shows, per person, the time recorded against the time expected (from the working week, the holidays and the leave), the working days with nothing recorded —with a Remind button— and the main projects. The Leave calendar shows who is away when; requests waiting for a decision are hatched and do not yet count against availability. The cost in Time per project is shown only to whoever sees labour cost.
