# What does Home show, and how do I set it up?

> What each section of the home page shows, why two colleagues do not see the same panels, and how to set it up for your account.

**Home** is the first page after you sign in: a summary of your day and of the office, not full lists. Beside a panel's title, the ▸ takes you to the page with the full list — it only appears when you can open that page.

In a new office the **Getting started with Ergothiki** guide stands at the top. Once the essential steps are done it folds into one line («Set-up complete») and stays there until the owner hides it: **Show** → **Hide**.

### What are the five sections?

Home is split into sections; beside each one, a number says how many panels it has for you.

| Section | What it shows |
| --- | --- |
| Today — with your name | Your own day: a summary and the time, your figures, your projects, anything of yours that is overdue, urgent notes, unread messages |
| The office's workflow | What is moving across the whole office: the timeline, appointments, tasks, notes, projects, open offers |
| People | Customers, partners, ErgoMeeting activity, workload |
| Finances | The monthly financial picture, unpaid balances, the month's customers and partners |
| Office | ErgoWeb, «What happened», the subscription, credits, ErgoCloud, system health |

### Why does not everyone see the same?

A panel appears when your role has the permission it needs **and** the office's plan includes its feature. A section with no panels for you shows 0. Finances, for example, need the permission to see amounts — in your office:

| Permission | Office Owner | Office administrator | Project manager | Technical staff | Secretariat | Accounting | Website manager |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| See the amounts of money on projects and work items | ✓yes | ✓yes | ✓yes | —no | —no | ✓yes | —no |

In the home settings, a locked panel says which permission it needs. If you are given it later, the panel starts hidden and you show it yourself.

### What counts as an overdue project?

A project is overdue when its deadline has passed and it is still open — unless all its items, apart from cancelled ones, are done: then it does not count as overdue, it is under **Ready to close** in the Control Centre. The same definition holds on Home, in the welcome and in the projects list.

### How do I set up my Home?

Press **Home settings** and pick a section. For each panel you choose whether it shows, where it sits (up or down) and its **Width**: Narrow, Half, Two thirds or Full width. Panels that allow it can be **pinned to Today**, so an office panel also appears in your own day; the screen tells you how many pins you may have. **Restore the defaults** puts back on/off, order, widths and pins.

These settings are saved for your account only; everyone else's Home stays as it is.
